Wash Post/Fox News: Legislators who serve
At one time in our nation's history, many of America's lawmakers were "citizen-soldiers." Today, according to the National Network of Legislators in the Military, less than 1% of the more than 7,300 state legislators in America also serve in the military.
The election of people from all walks of life, including military backgrounds, produces the diversity of experience needed for an effective state legislature. I know that I can point to my own military training and service as a Marine Intelligence Specialist as life experiences that provided me the discipline and principles that I carry with me to work each day.
I thought you might be interested in a recent article found in the Washington Post that featured me and other veterans who were actively serving in the military while also serving in the state legislature.
While my Marine Corps duty is finished, three of us from the article were also invited to be on the Fox News Channel's morning show "Fox & Friends" earlier this week to provide our thoughts from the perspective of legislators who have also served their country in uniform. You can watch the video clip by clicking here.
Our campaign continues to push full steam ahead, surpassing 50,000 miles traveled to nearly every corner of Ohio. We will have a number of exciting opportunities for you to get involved in our grassroots campaign during October, so please visit my website at www.joshmandel.com where you can sign up to volunteer or make a financial contribution.
Thank you for your continued support and I hope to see you soon.
Best wishes,
Josh
