Mandel Raising Big Bucks in State Treasurer's Race
By Aaron Marshall, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Jan 29, 2010 Original Article
Republican candidate for Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel is reporting just over $2 million in his campaign warchest, according to his most recent campaign finance filing turned in today.
The Lyndhurst state lawmaker is showing that he raised $944,668 during the final six months of 2009, which has helped him to a more than three to one cash on hand edge over current Ohio Treasurer Kevin Boyce who has $646,524 in the bank. Boyce reported raising $199,378 during the final half of 2009 in his own campaign finance filing.
Mandel, who said he's logged more than 67,000 miles and campaigned in 72 of Ohio's 88 counties, said the finance filing shows he's in the driver's seat in the race against the former Columbus city councilman.
