Josh's Family
Some might say Josh's journey to serving his community, state and nation began over 65 years ago when a young man - who Josh would come to know as Grandpa Harold - served our country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Meanwhile, another young man, who would later become his Grandpa Joe, was liberated from war-torn Europe by American forces.
Josh's family, like many, came to this country seeking a chance at the American Dream. It was around the dinner table surrounded by his grandparents, parents, and sister that Josh learned that service and sacrifice are important in keeping the American dream alive for future generations. This dedication has remained a guiding principle in his service as a Marine and elected official, and as a husband to his wife, Ilana.
Josh and Ilana were married in 2008 and decided to remain near their families and to one day raise a family of their own.
From his grandparents, Josh learned the timeless values of honesty, hard work and responsibility; values that were reinforced in the Marine Corps. Josh's grandfathers' lessons about community inspired him to want to serve in public life. This led him to serve as undergraduate Student Body President at The Ohio State University, Lyndhurst City Council and his present position representing his community in the State Legislature. Josh has carried the values of hard work, honesty, and commitment to community with him his whole life, and will continue to remember the lessons of his grandfathers as our State Treasurer.
